Urinary tract stone surgery involves the surgical treatment of stones that form in the kidneys, ureters or bladder.
Depending on the size and location of the stones and the patient's condition, different surgical techniques may be used.
These may include extracorporeal shock wave lithotripsy (ESWL), ureteroscopy, percutaneous nephrolithotomy (PNL) and open surgery.
The aim is to remove the stones from the body and thus prevent complications such as pain, infection and urinary tract obstruction.
