Peripheral arterial disease (PAD) is a condition in which blood flow is reduced or blocked as a result of narrowing or blockage in the arteries in the legs. PAD surgeries involve surgical procedures such as opening blockages in the arteries or bypass operations. These procedures are often used to treat blockages caused by atherosclerosis (hardening of the arteries).
