Liver cancer is a malignant tumor that originates in the liver. It develops when tumor cells in the liver grow from normal liver cells and divide uncontrollably. Liver cancer, when detected early, requires prompt treatment and presents symptoms such as abdominal pain, abdominal swelling, weight loss, jaundice, gastrointestinal bleeding, and fatigue. Treatment for liver cancer depends on the stage at which it is diagnosed. Early detection may allow for complete removal of the cancer.
