Atrial Septal Defect - Ventricular Septal Defect Closure
Atrial septal defect (ASD) and ventricular septal defect (VSD) are congenital heart defects characterized by the formation of holes in the heart wall. These holes weaken the barriers that should normally exist between the heart chambers and can cause blood to flow in the wrong direction. These conditions are usually diagnosed in childhood, but in some cases they can also be recognized in adulthood.
Atrial septal defect (ASD) closure is usually performed using minimally invasive methods. In this procedure, a special device (ASD closure device) is delivered to the heart through a catheter and closes the hole. This restores normal blood flow and improves heart function.
Ventricular septal defect (VSD) closure is similarly minimally invasive. The ventricular septum is closed by inserting a special device through a catheter into the hole. This breaks the communication between the heart chambers and allows blood to flow in the right direction.
As Gediz Health, we offer the most effective and reliable treatment options to our patients by using the experience of our professors specialized in the closure of atrial and ventricular septal defects and modern technologies. With our minimally invasive surgical methods, we aim to improve the quality of life of our patients by providing faster recovery.
